Looking for a 3G Modem?

We now sell Telstra NextG 3G USB adapters.  Currently we have the Sierra 885 7.2mb 3G USB modem, that will allow you to connect to Telstra without contract or upgrade your existing 3.2mb modem.

This can also be bundled with the Netgear MBR624GU 3G wireless internet sharing router for a cheaper price than Telstra charge for the modem itself.

 

Are you looking to share your existing NextG USB 3G Modem connection with others or multiple devices in your household?

Then the Netgear MBR624GU or Billion 3G & ADSL2+ Routers are the products you are looking for. Both provide a simple solution for you to share your existing Telstra 3G internet service with multiple computers and devices in the home.

The Netgear MBR624GU Wireless 3G internet sharing router is specifically designed for simple plug and play connection of your existing NextG 3G USB modem so multiple computers can share your Telstra NextG connection. The Billion 3G & ADSL2+ Routers provide a similar plug and play home network solution and also double as a fixed-line ADSL/2/2+ modem. These products offer the more serious broadband users the option of using their existing NextG 3G service as a fail-over backup to their DSL fixed phone line connection. If you have an existing NextG USB modem and DSL service then the Billion 7402GLX Wireless 3G router is the device we recommend.  If you have a NextG PCMCIA (PC Card) then you will need the Billion 7300GX Wireless 3G router.


Planning on Going wireless within your premises?

One of the key advantages of 3G broadband offers is the flexibility to roam within the confines of your own home or to different locations such as work or the holiday house. If you want to share you NextG connection with one or more computers the last thing you want is the hassle and restriction of running a cables to each and every computer.   This also allows you to place your router in the optimal position coverage wise within your house.

If you have a Telstra NextG USB modem we recommend you look at the Netgear MBR624GU Wireless 3G internet sharing router or the Billion 7402GLX Wireless 3G router. These routers include a WiFi certified 802.11g interface so you can create a fast and secure wireless home network for your home computers and laptops to access and share your Telstra NextG broadband connection.

If you have a 3G PCMCIA (PC Card) then you will require the Billion 7300GX Wireless 3G router.

If your home computer or laptop does not include an integrated wireless interface or separate adapter card we also offer a range of WiFi 802.11 G Adapters that are simple to install so you can connect wirelessly from any room at home.


What about my 3G speed and reliability?

After you have created your wireless home network environment you want to ensure maximum speed and reliable from your shared NextG broadband connection. There are a number of factors the impact wireless signal strength and performance of 3G wireless access. Even though you have good mobile phone coverage it does not necessarily follow that you broadband connection with be reliable. If you have just purchased a new NextG service we recommend you first confirm you have adequate coverage from the Telstra Mobile Broadband Coverage Map. If you experience problems now with you USB modem it is likely this will be more problematic when you are sharing the same 3G connection. If you are in doubt we recommend you consider purchasing the Panorama TCLIP2 3G Antenna or the Panorama TCLIP 3G Antenna (depending on your modem model) These antennas plugs in to you current 3G modem to boost the signal and ensure you achieve maximum performance and reliability form your 3G connection.
